Client updates with AI: fast, but never careless
Oct 20 2026 · Contracts
Status updates are where AI is safest and most useful — if you keep the facts yours.
Client updates are a good fit for AI: routine, frequent and low-risk if handled well. Draft the update from facts you supply, never let the model invent a date, a figure or a next step, and read the finished message as if the client will rely on every word — because they will. The rule is simple: AI improves the language, you own the facts. Keep a copy on the file.
What to hand the model
- The facts, in bullet points.
- The tone you want.
- The next step, decided by you.
What never to let it decide
Dates, figures, deadlines and next steps. If the model supplies a fact you did not give it, that is a fabrication — remove it.
Read it as the client will: every sentence must be true and yours.
